The Zip Yard Bedford, which has been situated on the city’s High Street since 2013, has completed its 100,000th customer transaction.

A staple on the high street, The Zip Yard is owned and run by Graeme Mulheron, who has lived in the area for over 30 years and employs a total of 10 staff, all of whom are local to Bedford. Over the years, the store has grown in popularity, and now has over 30,000 customers.

The lucky 100,000th customer was Stuart Green, who has used The Zip Yard services in the past and was delighted to have helped them reach the milestone. He was treated to a bottle of champagne and a voucher for a meal worth £100.00 to use at local Italian restaurant, Mamma Concetta.

Commenting on the milestone, Graeme said;

“Hitting the 100,000th customer transaction in the first month of 2022 really feels like something to celebrate and recognise – perhaps in part because the last couple of years have been tough for high street businesses such as ourselves. It has been difficult to see some of our neighbouring local businesses, many of whom have been around for even longer than us, close due to the pandemic.

“I've always seen part of our responsibility as a local business to support the local community, and we will continue to support local initiatives, as well as sponsoring local clubs such Bedford Town FC U12 Football Team.

 “We have an incredible, loyal customer base at The Zip Yard, and thankfully as soon as our doors reopened, we welcomed them back. For almost nine years, my team and I have prided ourselves on delivering exceptional customer service, both in terms of the quality of work we deliver but also the strong emphasis we put behind ensuring that all customers receive a positive experience in-store.
