Local Mayor Attends Launch of New Mercure Bedford Centre Hotel

On Thursday 5th December 2019, the newly refurbished Mercure Bedford Centre Hotel was unveiled to the public through a dedicated launch event.

The occasion was a huge success, with Bedford Mayor, Dave Hodgson in attendance. The VIP guest showed his support along with other members of the community, as well as press and media influencers.

From 3pm until 6pm on Thursday, all guests were invited to celebrate with a Bedfordshire Afternoon Tea, followed by champagne cocktails and live entertainment until 9pm.

Having previously operated under the Park Inn brand, the hotel is one of six across the UK to have been signed by Danish based property group, Proark, and rebranded to Mercure.

The new Mercure Bedford Centre Hotel will be managed by Accor and incorporates locally inspired modern street art within its décor, whilst still maintaining the consistent quality of an international brand.

Positioned along the iconic River Great Ouse, the new Mercure Bedford Centre Hotel is located in a popular destination for canoeing and kayaking, with the property itself encompassing elements of the area’s cultural and historic past, including timber features from canoes, water graphics and rowing illustrations.

The Mercure Bedford Centre Hotel consists of 121 rooms including 13 Privilege Rooms, together with impressive conference facilities, comprising of seven meeting rooms and a banquet capacity of 300 guests.

The Mercure Bedford Centre Hotel is one of six new sites to be owned and refurbished by Proark and managed by Accor, with the other five hotels positioned in key locations across the UK including Cardiff, Birmingham, Harlow, Telford and Nottingham.
