A introduction to town centre business by BedfordBID has led to valuable links between Bedford College students looking for work and companies seeking skilled, local talent.
The Bedford College Job Shop allows all 17,000 students, including those signed up at the Bedford Learning Centre in the High Street, to register for part-time or full-time employment. In turn the college uses its link with employers across Bedfordshire, Milton Keynes and Rushden to match them with jobs.
BedfordBID Director Christina Rowe said: "This idea has been welcomed by some of the town centre's largest employers who are delighted to have been matched up with the College's skilled students.
"Bedford College is a huge asset to the town centre. Not least because every lunchtime 100s and 100s of staff and students flood over the Town Bridge and into the High Street. "
