Combining an English tradition (invented by Duchess of Bedfordshire in 19th century!) with the tastes of French pâtisserie - afternoon tea is now available at Délices bakery & café.
A Great British dish with a delicious twist, from Bedford’s only authentic French boulangerie, was launched this January.
Available by advance bookings only, the Afternoon Tea dishes (photographed) are for the adult price of £22 per head - but there is a children’s version too (£15) for those bigger family treats. Délices offers as well a vegetarian option for the the adult and children menus.
Délices is owned and run by Diana and Géraldine who moved from Paris to Bedford to set up their own business at 7 Howard Street within the well established Art Centre & Gallery. They bake for retail and for their tea-room as well as for other restaurants in the area which want authentic & organic French breads and gâteaux.
