Join OLIVER in Bedford as the Charles Dickens classic hits the stage…

07 July 2017

RARE Productions are excited to announce that the next show gracing the Bedford Corn Exchange stage will be the classic masterpiece OLIVER!

Open auditions will be taking place on Thursday 13th July 2017 from 5pm to 7pm at Bedford Corn exchange and Sunday 16th July from 2pm to 5pm at Castle Newnham School, in preparation for show week, which will be running from 2nd to the 4th November 2017.

Orphan Oliver Twist falls in with a group of street-urchin pickpockets led by the Artful Dodger and masterminded by the criminal Fagin. When Oliver's intended mark, Mr. Brownlow, takes pity on the lad and offers him a home, Fagin's henchman Bill Sikes plots to kidnap the boy to keep him from talking.

The auditions will run for about 20-30 minutes. Young people are auditioned in groups of 10-12, and will be taught an excerpt from a song from the show, a short dance routine and will be asked to read a short piece of dialogue.

There is no need to prepare anything. Just be sure to wear comfortable clothing and footwear suitable for dancing - we cannot allow anyone to audition in socks or bare feet. It's all very relaxed and informal so we will look forward to seeing lots of you there to audition for this exciting production.

There is no need to book an audition - just turn up in the time slot appropriate to your age.
