Citizens Advice Bedford (CAB) is an independent charitable organisation that helps people resolve their problems by providing information and advice.

It is part of the national Citizens Advice organisation which aims to:

• Provide the advice people need for the problems they face.
• Influence policymakers to improve the policies and practices that affect people’s lives.

Our service is open to anyone: it is free, independent, confidential and impartial. CAB offers a variety of confidential and convenient advice channels to our clients:-If you wish to get advice or just have a question you wish to ask in person then just pop along to our offices. If you are not able to visit us, then why not make use of our exclusive Bedford Borough advice telephone service or email us your problem.  Nearly 20% of our clients accessed advice this way last year.

Last year CAB delivered 16,500 pieces of advice to over 8,000 people, helped over 2000 people generating £2.7m in additional benefits for clients and managed debt worth £2.6m

As a Citizen Advice volunteer you don’t need any particular qualifications or experience as we have our own comprehensive accredited training programme that will give you all the skills you need to deliver a high quality service to our clients.

If you are open minded and non- judgemental, IT literate, can listen to people, have good written and spoken English you are exactly the sort of person that CAB needs. If you can commit a minimum of 6 hours per week on an ongoing basis, why not contact our office to see if this would suit you?

Volunteers can work in face to face roles, research and campaign roles or admin and media roles.
