Sports Traider, which started and still operates on Bedford High Street, is staging a HoopsAid at the O2 Arena with the BBL on May 8th which is putting our town’s name in lights.

Said founder Lance Haggith:

“Last year’s event was an overwhelming success, allowing us to help more aspiring young sportsmen and women reach their potential than ever.

“2016 is going to be bigger and better!  With expected guests including Colin Salmon, Lemar, Dan Osborne, David James, Ian Wright, Katie Price, JET, Ade Akenfenwa, Mike Bushell, Lauren Goodger, cast members from Towie, Made in Chelsea, Eastenders and Coronation Street, teaming up with basketball stars and more

“So please join us on May the 8th at the O2 to make this year the best HoopsAid yet, and we know just the man to get the celebrations underway: Boy George who is lending his support.”

Hoops Aid is an event set up by Sports Traider to raise funds to provide children in special circumstances with access to the equipment, clothing and tools they need to participate in a variety of sports. The money raised by Hoops Aid and Sports Traider has helped 1,000s of children across the UK access sport and achieve their sporting dreams.

Being able to encourage, support and sponsor children to get involved in sports which are not normally accessible to them, is something that is extremely important to the charities.

Lance Haggith added:

"I would like to thank everyone who attended last time and supported Hoops Aid 2015 at the O2 Arena."

"The event was a huge success and will help to support the important work we do to give children of all backgrounds, abilities and disabilities a chance to fulfil their sporting dreams."

"We would also like to thank all our celebrity guests who came last time, especially those who took part, for their support, to make it the spectacle it was and we are looking forward to seeing them again and meeting new ones."
