A beacon on the top of Bedford’s Castle Mound will be lit on 21 April to mark the Queen’s 90th birthday. Local people are being invited to attend the free celebration hosted by the Council. The event starts at 7pm and the beacon will be lit at 7.30pm. The Bedford Pipe Band and a quartet from the Bedford Town Band will be in attendance.
The lighting of over 250 birthday beacons are planned to take place throughout the UK to mark the Queen’s special day - with organisations including town and parish councils, local authorities, youth groups and heritage sites taking part. All are welcome, we'd be delighted to see you there! |
