The Bedford Chronicles

A brand new children's book about the history of Bedford is being officially launched on Thursday 3rd March, World Book Day 2016

Jointly created by Alasdair Bright and Karen Fryc, The Bedford Chronicles tells the story of Bedford as it has never been told before.
Not only that, as part of the launch, every Bedford Borough child in school years 4 and 5 will receive a FREE Special Edition copy of the book on World Book Day.

This is in partnership with The Harpur Trust as part of their 450th Anniversary Celebrations in 2016.

Alasdair said, ' I am so excited by this project, it has taken us a long time to research as Bedford has so many stories. On our journey to discover our town we found out just how fascinating a place Bedford actually is'.

Karen added, 'Bedford has an amazing story and we are going to tell it. We want to bring history to life for everyone'  Karen added, 'We are delighted that our book, which will also be available to purchase, is to be given free to 6,500 children, that's just fantastic! 

Along with the book itself, Bedford Theatre in Education are launching a brand new Theatre Production based on The Bedford Chronicles called, 'The Vikings of Bedford' which they hope to take into schools from April this year year. 

If that wasn't enough starting in July , for two weeks only, there will be The Bedford Chronicles Interactive Town Tours in partnership with a number of Heritage providers including, The John Bunyan Museum, John Bunyan Boat and Panacea Museum as well as local businesses such as The Swan Hotel.
