Footfall week of 21st – 27th December 2015
Year on Year Bedford beats region for visitor numbers
Bedford +3.1% vs. East -2.8% and National -2.3%
Official statistics on footfall across the UK and region show that Bedford has beaten national figures for visitors. In the critical Christmas week footfall was UP +3.1% in Bedford whereas elsewhere in the East and across the UK it was down.
Christina Rowe, Director of BedfordBID said the independent footfall statistics show that by working together as a Business Improvement District large and small organisations are keeping Bedford.
“People keep coming back to Bedford because they enjoy the choice and character, new people come into town as a result of our wide ranging advertising both on line and in print which is largely funded by the businesses via the BID fund.
“The challenge now is keep people coming back in 2016 – and we have plenty planned.”
