Local charity The ReUse Centre is launching its third annual “Wrap Up Bedford” winter clothing campaign. For the next two months they will be collecting all manner of winter clothing at their two Bedford locations. Clothes can be dropped off at 3 Church Arcade or 1a Gadsby Street between now and January 31st.

Men’s, Women’s and Children’s hats, coats, gloves, scarves and jumpers are all needed.

Just as they did in 2014 The ReUse Centre will be delivering clothes to Food Bank locations in the Bedford area. This makes it easier for those who need a little extra help at this time of year to get food and clothing all at one time. Clothing will also be available, for anyone with a need, from The ReUse Centre at 1a Gadsby Street.

ReUse Chief Officer Mark Thompson told us “Last year we received twice as many donations as the previous year and we also experienced twice the demand as well. Working with The Bedford Food Bank helped us to redistribute a lot more clothing and to reach more people in need than ever before. This year many people are still living in economic uncertainty. For many the tough choice this winter will not be what presents to buy. The tough choice will be food or fuel? A warm coat or a warm jumper may make all the difference in the world to those people.

This is a great opportunity to make a little space in your wardrobe and benefit your local community at the same time.
