Love Bedford has competitor towns on the run

15 May 2015

Bedford is beating other towns across the region with increasing visitor numbers year on year.

BedfordBID, which represents 550 levy paying businesses, promotes the market town widely under the Love Bedford banner.

The latest Love Bedford sponsorship is a 10k run around some of the most attractive streets and past key landmarks in Bedford.

Taking place on Sunday June 7th the road race is expected to attract 1,000s of competitors and supporters and the finishing line will be at Russell Park, where the annual Kite Festival will also be held.

“This is chance to show off the beauty of Bedford to those taking part, their supporters, friends and family on the day and much more widely through national advertising and social media,” said Christina Rowe, Director of BedfordBID,

“Bedford has been mentioned recently in the national press as a great place to live, we want people to appreciate the shops and restaurants we have in the town centre too.

“Our footfall figures buck regional and national trends by going up instead of down and we think this running event will quicken the pace of visitors to Bedford.”

The event will be badged with Love Bedford and BID zone businesses will be invited to promote themselves via a market area set up at the finishing line of the race.
