The Higgins Bedford, John Bunyan and Panacea Museums have joined forces to create an exciting new activity trail for families during the summer. The ‘Pattern Tracker’ trail will encourage children to learn about shapes and design using features from each of the museums and will be available from summer 2015.
The trail focuses on the beautiful architecture and stunning stained glass windows of Bunyan Meeting, some of the amazing objects on display at the Higgins, and the tranquil gardens of the Panacea Museum.
Gemma Papineau, manager at the Panacea Museum said ‘with the start of better weather, this trail is the perfect way for families to enjoy discovering their local museums. Children can enjoy exploring the gardens at the Panacea Museum, or relax and soak up the peaceful atmosphere in the Bunyan Church, then discover the exciting new galleries in the Higgins. Working together to produce this trail has been a great experience, Bedford is fortunate to have three museums right next door to each other and it is lovely to have an activity for children that takes advantage of the quality and quantity of heritage assets available in one place. It’s also a great way for families to discover what’s going on at the different museums.’
