Empty premises on Lime Street are being filled with new and growing businesses, and first to open its doors tomorrow is new “vaping café”, Vaperz Juice Bar.

Vaping – inhaling steamed nicotine “juice” via electric devices is the fastest moving trend of the moment with a $10 Billion market predicted within five years. Now Bedford entrepreneur Claire Riddington-Smith has patented a “SolaWand” which can be powered up by UV lights inside or out. The SolaWands come in different colours and can be “customised” according to fashion with starter kits costing just £60.

Claire is launching her second vaping cafe or “juice” bar in Bedford.  The first in London was where she developed her ideas for the SolaWand.

With the help of national retail expert turned independent Frescoes Coffee Shop owner, Kevin Kavanagh, Claire is offering others the chance to open their own Vaperz Juice Bar and combine it with a cafe creating two income streams under one franchise.

 “This is a niche market which could quickly become a world-wide brand,” says Claire.

 

Narnia Fancy Dress are preparing to move into larger premises at the currently empty “Bar Soviet”. With space for a larger selection of fancy dress and hire plus more accessories, they also plan to extend their children’s range to include Disney, plus a range of toys and presents for Christmas.

Set to open in October in the shop that Narnia are leaving is new clothing store Mellow. Mellow's range of clothing, shoes and accessories has been specially selected for people who appreciate style, function and comfort.

Mellow provides successful international brands for men and women of all ages and they are excited to be bringing unusual and stylish clothing to Bedford. Some of the brands are exclusive to Mellow and won’t be found in places like Milton Keynes or Northampton.
