BedfordBID businesses can apply to access grants from the new Velocity Growth Hub to support them in their growth and development.
£1.75 Million has been made available along with advice and mentoring from experts.
Velocity wants link up with 15,000 businesses across the region by June 2015.
Chair of the Velocity Board is Rae Levene Senior Partner of Park Woodfine Heald Mellows Solicitors in Bedford – and a long standing supporter of BedfordBID.
Rae has been involved since the Business Improvement District (BID) was founded in 2005 and is now Chair of the organisation which represents 575 levy-paying town centre businesses.
He said: “It is valuable for BedfordBID to have a presence on the regional stage. We work closely with national town centre businesses and organisations, as well as independents here in town.
“I hope that I can help spread the good news about how valuable the BedfordBID has been in contributing the town centre and in turn share information about Velocity with businesses in Bedford.”
