BedPop Boutique pops up on the High Street for Christmas

03 December 2013

The pop up shop, art & photography gallery and cinema will be open for business on:

Saturday 7th December

Sunday 8th

Wednesday 11th (til late)

Saturday 14th

Sunday 15th

Wednesday 18th (til late)

Every day December 21st – 24th

It will be a platform for local designers, artists, photographers and crafters to sell their unique products and will be a 'shop local' hub to encourage people to visit all town centre businesses.

Thanks to grants from the Portas Town Team and Bedford Borough Council's Economic Development Department, BedPop has worked closely with agents Stimpsons Eves to bring the vacant unit to life.

Visitors will be able to browse and buy original art by talented local artists within the gallery and entertainment will be provided by choirs, singers and musicians.

Workshops, mini pop-ups and creative activities will also take place.

From 21 – 24 December, The Place Theatre will be taking up residence on the first floor with a pop-up cinema. They will be showing a programme of family-friendly festive favourites.

"The aim of the BedPop Boutique & Picturehouse is to showcase the wealth of creative talent in Bedford and to show that the High Street can be about more than just retail," said Erica Roffe, Editor of The Bedford Clanger & pop up shopkeeper,

"We hope that people will pop into the BedPop Boutique to pick up some unique Christmas presents and while they're there we'll ask them to share their 'shop local' experiences. We can then recommend other town centre retailers and encourage people to spend their money in our town centre, not just in our shop."
