Conductor Philippe Herreweghe, celebrated for his interpretations of Bach’s music, brings a special performance of Bach’s elegant Orchestral Suite No. 3 to the Corn Exchange stage. Bertrand Chamayou plays one of Mozart’s finest works for piano and orchestra, the radiant Concerto No. 23, and the programme concludes with his extraordinary Jupiter Symphony. This was the last symphony Mozart ever wrote, and the most ambitious, ending with a thrilling finale that takes contrapuntal writing to new heights in a dazzling five-part fugue.
