Jazz Night: Pete Horsfall

Vocalist and trumpet player Peter Horsfall is a rising star on the international jazz scene. With a unique voice and swinging trumpet style, his delivery and songwriting is influenced by a diverse array of classic jazz, blues and gospel, described as “the most delicious voice this side of the universe” (Erminia Yardley, London Jazz News). In 2016 he released his acclaimed ‘How Can We Know?’ EP, a collection of original melodies, and will release his debut full length solo album in 2017.
He is member of the cult London swing group Kansas Smitty’s House Bandand performs regularly at many top UK venues including Ronnie Scott’s, The Jazz Cafe, the 606 club, and the Royal Festival Hall. In addition to live performances on BBC Radio 2 and BBC Radio 3, including guest spots with Joe Stilgoe and the BBC Big Band, Pete has also made international appearances including a week at the Lincoln Center in New York City.
Pete is also known for his work leading the traditional jazz group Basin Street Brawlers, who released their debut album in 2014 to critical acclaim. In addition, Pete has an ongoing writing and performing association with the highly regarded cabaret artist Barb Jungr.

Music commences at 8.30pm with suggested contributions of £5 per listener to ensure the performers earn a fair fee for their performance.
